Sensei has started making in-game appearances again. This time, he’s appearing in the new Fire Dojo, so you’ll need to be a member in Club Penguin to meet him. If you click on him you’ll see that he’s wearing his new Fire Outfit. As usual, he gives out a free gift of an autographed player card.

You can use my Sensei Tracker to keep tabs on him. The tracker updates based on information provided by players on the latest sightings of Sensei. If you spot him in a new place, please visit my Sensei Tracker page and fill out the quick form to show where he was spotted. The tracker updates when enough verified sightings are registered.

Hey everyone and welcome to a new weekly feature I’m starting: Friday Funnies. I’m going to try and post a new funny Club Penguin picture here each week. I’ll also be taking submissions soon so that everyone can join in.

In this first week’s Friday Funny picture, here’s something strange I spotted over on the Mammoth server late last night when I headed to the Iceberg to play a little Aqua Grabber. Apparently, the storm that is brewing over Club Penguin this week is causing some really odd behavior. I saw Rockhopper, Aunt Arctic, Gary, DJ Cadence and Sensei standing around the edge of the Iceberg. They didn’t see me there at first and Rockhopper was trying to get everyone to tip it! When they spotted me they all started muttering something and then quickly scattered. Very strange!

The Club Penguin blog just announced that there’s a new plush toy in the Club Penguin Line of the Sensei. It’s a 6 1/2″ plush and at least on Amazon.com it’s mentioned as being limited-edition. The Series 2 trading cards are also out now (I got some yesterday at Target but no golden code cards for me yet).

The Sensei toy is the latest in a series of things happening around Club Penguin about ninjas. They also extended the Club Penguin Sensei’s Scavenger Hunt by an extra week. It was supposed to end today but now it ends on the 28th.

There was a surprise Monday update today on Club Penguin following the end of the Fall Fair 2009 and Rockhopper’s visit to the island. For the past several days, mysterious things have been happening with fire on the Club Penguin island. Today, many places on the island started displaying a sunset in the background and there is now a special activity you can do called Sensei’s Scavenger Hunt. It works just like all the other scavenger hunts in Club Penguin.

To start Sensei’s Scavenger Hunt, click on the fire icon that appears in the top right of your screen. You’ll then need to locate eight different items that are hidden around the island. The clues on the little yellow sticky notes in the bottom right corner help you figure out where to find the items. Here’s the list of where they all are.

Sensei’s Scavenger Hunt Items

The first item is inside the ski lodge. Click on the fireplace to get the log.

The second item is in the book room on top of the coffee shop. Click on the candle attached to the book shelf on the left side of the room.

The third item is inside the Pet Shop. Click on the black puffle in the cage to make him turn red and catch fire. Then click on him again to get a single burning hair from him.

The fourth item is inside the Mine. Click on the lamp near the cave entrance.

The fifth item is in the Pizza shop. Click on the bottle of hot sauce on top of the brick pizza oven, right next to the 101 Days Pin.

The sixth item is at the Cove. Click on the stick in the campfire.

The seventh item is up at the beacon on top of the lighthouse. Click on the jetpack near where you play the jet pack adventure game.

The eighth item is at the Dojo, outside in the courtyard. Click on the lamp on the left side of the main entrance.

After you collect all eight items, you can claim your prize. It’s the fire pin. You’ll also see at the Dojo there’s some sort of construction going on and a sign that says, Prepare for a new ninja journey. This could be an update to the Card-Jitsu game or possibly a new mission for ninjas, just like the missions for secret agents. That would at least explain why Club Penguin has been so slow in releasing Mission 11. Could this be the start of Club Penguin Ninja Mission 11?

Sensei is Here

Along with the scavenger hunt event, Sensei himself is reported to be wandering around the island on certain servers. As always, you can use the Club Penguin Sensei Tracker to find him.

Scavenger Hunt Glitches

If you look really carefully when you find an item, you’ll see the blue screen quickly say, easter_hunt. This is probably because the Club Penguin developers used the same bit of code for this scavenger hunt that they used for the Easter scavenger hunt. Someone probably just got lazy.

A little glitch in the Sensei Scavenger Hunt on Club Penguin

Here’s another possible glitch I found, but it could have just been a slow Internet connection. When I tried to log into Club Penguin tonight, I could see the introduction screen with the penguins, but instead of saying what they usually do when you move your mouse cursor over them, all they said was, Undefined.

Lots of people are reporting that they’re finding Sensei on Club Penguin with the Club Penguin Sensei Tracker. That’s great! A lot of people are also reporting that the servers or the ninja hideout rooms are full. Club Penguin is really busy today with all the excitement around Sensei’s arrival. The best thing you can do is be patient. Because the rooms fill up fast when he arrives, sometimes the best strategy is to pick a popular server (he visits popular servers more often) and just wait in the ninja hideout until he gets there.

I’m working on the tracker today to improve it so that it will incorporate more direct feedback from players when Sensei is spotted. This will work a lot like the different comment trackers out there but be more organized and automated. I hope to have it finished later today! In the meantime, keep looking and don’t worry too much if the servers are full. If you are patient, you’ll find him. Good luck!!!

Everyone is getting excited about Sensei arriving today on Club Penguin. Remember, you can only spot him at the secret ninja hideout, which means you need to be a ninja by getting your black-belt in Card-Jitsu. If you’re not a black belt ninja yet, don’t worry! On the official CP Blog, Screenhog gives some history of how Sensei arrived on the Club Penguin island in November back when all us penguins helped to dig out the Dojo from the big snowfall.

We’re keeping an eye on the ninja hideout all weekend and the Club Penguin Sensei Tracker will update with his location. There is a lot of excitement about Sensei today so don’t get too discouraged if the server he’s on is full. He’ll keep moving around and if you’re patient you’ll get a chance to meet him.

The big news, in case you haven’t heard, is that Sensei has arrived. Here’s what the newspaper says about it:

Sensei’s at the Hideout! Wear your belt around the island and let everyone know that Sensei has come to visit.

Sensei is appearing at the Ninja Hideout, which you enter through the Dojo. Be sure to check out the Club Penguin Sensei Tracker to find him a lot easier. Good luck!

A lot of penguins are still working on getting their black belts in the Dojo by playing the card-jitsu game. It’s a long road of many wins (you need about 80) but you can do it if you keep playing. Once you win the black belt, the real challenge awaits. Now you can take on the Sensei in Sensei Mode and have a chance of beating him. But there’s something you should know before you try to fight him.

If you have already tried Sensei Mode before you earn your black belt than you know that Sensei is pretty much unbeatable. In fact, he cheats. He knows what card you will play and then automatically plays a card that will beat it. For example, if you play fire, he will play water. Every time.

But once you get your black belt and play him a few times (about 5 times), you’ll notice that he stops cheating and makes a few mistakes. Now he can be beaten if you play well. And when you do win, you will be rewarded with the coveted ninja mask, which gives you access to the Flying Flippers Emporium and the secrets of the ninja catalog.
