The Great Snow Race has finally arrived in Club Penguin. This event is the big party for August, 2011. The Great Snow Race is a very long version of normal sled racing and most of the event is about getting up to the top of the mountain to start the race. Once you get there, you can race against other penguins all the way back down. This entire event will be very familiar to anyone who did the Mountain Expedition from last year. Club Penguin re-used a lot of the same elements from that event. Some might even say that they got lazy and pretty much copied the entire thing, but added a sled race to the end of that. Anyway, here is the complete guide to the event.

Great Snow Race Entry

The Great Snow Race begins in the Ski Village. You can get there by using the main map, or you can travel there by clicking on the poster that appears in Town. Once you arrive, you’ll see a huge sign for the race. One of Gary’s AC 3000 air conditioner devices is here to add a little more ice to the area, and you’ll see a race medal stand over to the right. Walk under the sign to get to the next zone.

Supply Camp

The next zone is the Supply Camp. The main thing to do here, if you’re a member, is to browse through the special Great Snow Race supply catalog. There are some cool items that you can buy with coins, but they’re all for looks. They won’t help you climb the mountain or race faster. Here’s a list of the items that you can purchase from the catalog.

• The Rocket Wig (with snow helmet), 350 coins
• Slush Stopper goggles, 150 coins
• Blast-Off Board, 400 coins
• Yellow Hiking Shoes, 200 coins
• Red Hiking Shoes, 200 coins

After you’re done browsing the catalog, head up to the top of the screen (near the half pipe sign) to proceed to the next zone.

Ice Cavern

This room looks a lot like the puzzle room from last year’s Mountain Expedition. In that room, there was a puzzle where you had to click all of the icicles at the top in a special sequence to get the ice wall to open. This year, Club Penguin eliminated the puzzle part and made this room a whole lot easier. Now all you need to do is to click all of the icicles. Once you do, the wall will open and you can walk through to get to the next zone. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Base Camp

Welcome to Base Camp. There’s very little to do here, but you can sit around the camp fire (walk near it to see it light up). There’s a big screen here showing the Great Snow Race in action. If you look closely, you can see the racers shoot by down the slope right behind the screen. Once you’ve had enough of the Base Camp, waddle past the sign pointing to the Sled Race to get to the top of the mountain.

Mountain

Well, we’re not quite there yet. Here’s another short puzzle you need to do. It seems that the bridge over the chasm is out and you’ll need to improvise. This is the exact same scenario from last year’s Mountain Expedition, and here’s what you need to do.

1. Click on the branch in the lower-left corner to lift it up and then click on it four more times to sweep the snow off the axe.
2. Click on the axe to lift it and then click on it several times to chop down the tree stump. It will fall onto one end of a sheet of ice.
3. Throw snowballs at all of the icicles that are dangling up above the other end of the ice sheet.
4. The icicles will drop and flip the stump up over the chasm.

EPF Members: There’s a secret room in the lower-right corner, where you see a sign that says, “EPF Only” and some caution tape. Walk past that sign to go into the secret room and get a special free item. See below for all the details.

Top of the Mountain

We’re finally here. Once you’ve reached the top of the mountain, you’ll earn a special stamp, the Mountaineer. From here, you can join in the Great Snow Race, which is a special extended version of the Sled Racing game we all know and love. Join in to head back down the mountain on board an inner tube.

Secret EPF Room

EPF agents can access a secret room from the log bridge area on the mountain. Once inside, you’ll find a hidden cave with a viking ship and a frozen walrus inside. Once again, it’s the same room as the Mountain Expedition. But this time, there’s a free item in here: an Infrared Tracker. Waddle up to the top of the room to get it.

Club Penguin Great Snow Race Video

It’s time once again for the Club Penguin Puffle Party and everything is in full swing this week on Club Penguin. The latest edition of the Puffle Party begins today and runs through next week. It’s a celebration of everything puffle on the island and this year’s special guest is the brand-new brown puffle.

Free Item: Blue Puffle Hat

The free item for this year’s party is the Blue Puffle Hat. You’ll find it in a large box sitting in the Plaza right outside the entrance to the Pet Shop. Put it on and get ready to party like a puffle.

Rooftop Access

Members can go enjoy the rooftop area of the Night Club during the party. To get there, go to the lounge on the second floor of the Night Club. The entrance is over on the left. If you’re a member, the elevator to take you up there will open. Up on the roof itself, there’s a dance party going on and DJ Cadence makes appearances from time to time.

Puffle Show

Members can also attend the Puffle Show, being held in a special area in the Ski Village. Bring your puffle to the show and walk it up to the starting line of the obstacle course in the bottom left corner. It will run through the course and later you can bring it over to the puffle grooming chairs or put it up on one of the judging station platforms.

Party Puffle Stamp

There’s even a special stamp just for the party. It’s called the Party Puffle stamp. To get it, you need to bring any of your puffles to their special party room. The room is different for each puffle, but you only need to bring one puffle to the correct room to earn the new stamp. Here’s a list of the different party rooms for each of the puffles.

• Brown – Dance Lounge (second floor of night club)
• Purple – Night Club main floor
• Red – Cove
• Pink – Iceberg
• Yellow – Inside Lighthouse
• Green – On top of lighthouse (beacon)
• White – Inside Mine
• Orange – Box Dimension (see below)
• Black – Underground Pool (now a skating rink)
• Blue – Forest

Box Dimension Open for Party

The mysterious Box Dimension is open again for everyone during the party. You’ll find a group of orange puffles in here enjoying a mountain of chocolate chip cookies. To get into the Box Dimension, go to the beach and walk through the huge portal box near the lighthouse.

The Club Penguin Halloween Party for 2010 is has arrived! It began on October 29 and runs through the weekend until November 3. Most of the island is covered by dark and ominous storm clouds and the occasional burst of thunder and lightning. It’s a very spooky and scary party in Club Penguin.

Free Item: Purple Bat Wings

The free item for this year’s party is the purple bat wings which can be found in a box at the plaza. Like most free items, it’s an item worn on the head.

Halloween Candy Hunt

The Halloween Candy Hunt is always the main attraction of the Halloween Party. Click on the Jack-O-Lantern in the upper right corner of your screen to get started. You’ll get clues to help find each of the eight pieces in the scavenger hunt. If you get stuck, use this step-by-step guide:

Night of the Living Sled

All three episodes of the spooky Night of the Living Sled horror movie are playing on the island. Night of the Living Sled 1 is at the Coffee Shop. Night of the Living Sled 2 is playing next door at the Night Club. And Night of the Living Sled 3 is playing inside the Lighthouse.

Haunted House

Members can enter the Haunted House, which can be accessed from the Forest. The inside of the haunted house is very cool and a little scary. There is a free item inside, at the top of the stairs. It’s a ghost costume, which we’ve seen before.

Dark Chamber

The Dark Chamber is a series of spooky rooms that are available to members only. To get there, follow the path from the forest. The first room you’ll enter has an organ and a bunch of rocks that shoot colored steam into the air. You need to match the sequence of steam you see by pressing the right organ keys. After you do, you’ll see the door start to open. Keep repeating it until the door opens completely and you can go through.

In the second room, you’ll see that it’s very dark. The first thing to do is to pick up the lantern in the box to your right. Equip the lantern and you’ll be able to see your way as you navigate the maze. Here’s a cool cheat: if you have the night-vision goggles, put those on and you’ll be able to see the whole room at once without having to use the lantern.

After you get through the maze, you’ll arrive in the Monster Room. Here you can buy costume parts from the Monster Maker catalog. You can also get a free item for your igloo here: the Pile O’ Candy. Many of the Monster Maker parts are the same as last year. The two new ones are the Orange Blob and the Green Cyclops masks.

You can exit this room in the lower-right corner and you’ll wind up inside the Haunted House. Cool!

The 2010 edition of the Club Penguin Fair has arrived here on Club Penguin. A lot of the areas of the island are decorated with a festival theme and there are plenty of secrets, surprises, fun games, and more. Read on for all the Club Penguin Fair cheats.

How to Win Tickets and Get Prizes

The biggest part of the Fair are the different games you can play to earn tickets. These tickets can then be redeemed to earn prizes. You can see how many tickets you have in the upper-right corner of your screen. Play the different games to win more. Remember: you lose all your tickets when you log out of Club Penguin, so redeem any tickets you win right away!

• Step 1: Play any of the Fair games to win tickets.
• Step 2: Go to a prize both in the Forest or at the entrance to the Great Puffle Circus (for members).
• Step 3: Click on the booth and trade your tickets for prizes!

To redeem the prizes, visit either the main prize booth at the Forest or if you’re a member, you can go to the one at the Great Puffle Circus. The main booth has a number of different prizes available and more items will arrive next week.

Here’s a run down of all the activities for the Fair by location.

Town

Start out in Town to see the decorations of the Coffee Shop, the Night Club and the Gift Shop. There’s also a Magic Show stand in the middle. It doesn’t appear to do anything, but it’s fun to stand on top of it and pretend to give a Magic Show. Right next to it you’ll see a fair poster telling you that captains are needed. Click on the Go There button to visit the Beach.

Beach

The highlight of the Beach is the Memory Card Game. It’s a simple game where you turn over cards and try to match up the pictures. The fewer tries it takes you to match them all up, the more tickets you win. The beach is of course where Rockhopper’s ship has landed, so waddle on over to go inside and see what he’s brought.

Rockhopper at the Fair

Rockhopper brought a little magic to Club Penguin for the Fair.

Rockhopper arrived just in time to kick off the start of the Club Penguin Fair. You’ll find his ship, the Migrator, docked at the beach as usual. Go inside the ship’s hold to see the free items and the things Rockhopper has for sale. It’s a complete magician’s outfit. The free item is the Top Hat, and members can buy a magician’s wand and a magician’s cloak along with a curtain for their igloo. Put them on and head back to town to give a quick little magic show on the podium.

The Dock

Waddle over to the Dock to play Ring the Bell and Puffle Shuffle, two popular and fun games for earning tickets at the Fair. Both of these games have appeared at previous fairs and are pretty easy to play.

Snow Forts

The snow forts has a special area with exclusive games.

The Snow Forts has a special area with Puffle Soaker and Balloon Pop, two popular games returning from previous fairs in Club Penguin.

Forest

Play games and enter the Great Puffle Circus at the Forest.

Go to the Forest to play Puffle Paddle and to redeem your tickets for prizes at the Prize Booth. The entrance to the Great Puffle Circus is here. It’s a members-only area.

Great Puffle Circus

The Great Puffle Circus has returned. Members can enter the area from the Forest. The outside features the members-only prize booth with several items that members can trade in their tickets to receive.

Go inside the tent to see the Great Puffle Circus in action. You can select a puffle color and then you’ll see each puffle perform a certain act. They’re very entertaining!

Cove

Play Feed a Puffle at the Club Penguin Cove

Go to the Cove to play Feed-a-Puffle and to visit the Popcorn booth. The popcorn booth is just for decoration, but it looks cool. Feed a Puffle is a fun game to play.

Iceberg

The iceberg sure looks different.

The iceberg may win the award for best decoration. It’s been completely transformed into a giant slide filled with colored plastic balls. Wheeee!

Ski Village

There’s not much to do at the Ski Village, but you should stop by to marvel at the enormous waving statue of Captain Rockhopper at the base of the mountain.

Many of the other areas like the Plaza, Coffee Shop and a few other places are decked out with Fair decorations as well. What do you think of this year’s Club Penguin Fair?

The Club Penguin Fair for 2010 is only a few days away and you can already see a lot of the preparations underway at the Beach. There are a lot of boxes and crates stacked up out in front of the lighthouse. Usually more of the island is under construction for upcoming parties, but this time you’ll only find stuff at the Beach. For an extra peek at what’s planned, waddle up to the top of the lighthouse and click on the telescope to see Rockhopper’s ship, the Migrator, on it’s way. It’s overloaded with party gear! The Fall Fair starts on September 3, 2010!

The Migrator’s arrival means that Rockhopper will be on the island. In addition to the Fair Fair he’ll be bringing pirate stuff for members to buy and a free item for everyone. And don’t forget to use the Rockhopper Tracker to pinpoint him. This will be everyone’s first chance to get one of the famous penguin sighting stamps for their Club Penguin Stamps books.

The Party Hats

We’re continuing the series on Club Penguin costumes today with a look at some of the most desirable items in the game, the Club Penguin party hats. One of the great things about the party hats is that anyone can have them. You don’t need to be a member. The only problem is that you need to have attended the anniversary parties in the past to get the hats.

Each year in October, Club Penguin holds an anniversary party to celebrate the launch of the game in October, 2005. That means that so far there have been four anniversary parties, with a fifth coming up in October 2010. The four anniversary hats are all striped and have a different look. They were all given out during the parties inside the coffee shop (the second year hat was given out upstairs in the Book Room).

If you have three or even all four of the hats it means you’ve been around a while! Here’s a look at all of the different party hats.

The first year party hat had blue and green stripes.

The second year party hat had yellow and orange stripes.

The third year party had had blue, orange and yellow stripes.

The fourth year party had featured purple and blue stripes.

The Beta Hat

There’s an even rarer hat out there: the Beta Hat. This hat was given out to all players who participated in the beta test before Club Penguin launched. It was a pink and yellow-striped hat and it was given out in Town at the end of the beta test.

The Club Penguin Medieval Party 2010 has arrived in Club Penguin, and as we all expected, it’s a huge party. There are a lot of things to do at this celebration. Some are brand new and some are old favorites from previous Medieval Parties. The annual Medieval Party is one of the biggest events each year in the game, and here’s a guide to all the things you can do at the party.

Free Item: Wizard’s Hat

The blue wizard’s hat is a regular free item at the Medieval Party and it has returned once again to the 2010 edition of the event. If you don’t already have this hat, go to the Lighthouse and you’ll find it inside, sitting on a table in the lower-left corner of the room. This free item is available to everyone.

Knight’s Quest 1

This year there are two Knight’s Quest missions for Club Penguin members to play. The first one is almost exactly the same as last year, but with different rewards, so even if you did the quest last year, you’ll want to try it again. Last year the rewards were a golden knight armor set. This year, it’s black iron. You can read my full walkthrough of the Knight’s Quest 1 if you get stuck. Don’t forget to pick up the free item while you’re there. It’s in a box in the second room, where you throw snowballs at the targets. To start the quest, visit the Underground Pool.

Knight’s Quest 2

A second Knight’s Quest was added this year and it’s also a lot of fun to do. Just like with the first one, you need to be a member to participate. In this quest, you’ll need to defeat a dangerous fire-breathing dragon and then you’ll get a chance to enter his treasure room. You can read a full walkthrough of the Knight’s Quest 2 if you’re stuck. There are two free items inside the treasure room at the end: a pile of dragon’s gold that you can put in your igloo and a special toothbrush collectible pin. Yes, a tooth brush pin. Really! You can start this quest right next to the first one at the Underground Pool.

Other highlights for the Medieval Party are similar to those from years before. You can go to the pizza parlor to see a giant round table, or visit the dark tower on top of the Ski Hill. It even has a magic mirror that will answer your questions. And much of the island is redecorated with castles and other medieval items.

There are a few more sneak peeks for the upcoming 2010 edition of the always-popular Club Penguin Medieval Party. The party kicks off tomorrow and the Club Penguin staff posted this interview with the party planners on the official Club Penguin blog.

Q: Tell us about the Medieval Party styles and costumes!
A: Well, we tried to make something for everyone! The knights need armor, the noble need fancy threads, and there’s something special for those who are really adventurous.

Q: Everyone’s been talking about a new member quest – please tell us a secret!
A: Hmmm. I can’t give it all away, but I’ll tell you that there’s a cavern full of hot sauce, and a creature who breathes fire… You and your friends will be challenged!

Q: Where are some of the places at the party you can’t wait to see this year – and the stuff you can’t wait to do?
A: For sure we’ll be checking out the Pizza Parlor, the Tree Forts, the Lounge that’s decorated with thrones, and the castle at the top of the mountain… but we’re really stoked to hear what everyone’s the most excited about so let us know.

Tucked away in the back pages of the latest edition of the Club Penguin Times, the official newspaper, you’ll find a big announcement. The annual Medieval Party is returning to Club Penguin. The 2010 edition will start on May 7. Each year, the Medieval Party is a huge event in Club Penguin, and I hope this year they make it a fun party once again.

Last year’s event included the Golden Knight’s quest, a really fun event where you went through a maze to earn all the pieces of a golden knight’s suit. It was only available to members, though.

Another April Fool’s Party has come to Club Penguin and it’s filled with the usual collection of fun, excitement and special hidden secrets, Club Penguin cheats, and silly surprises. April Fool’s is always a really fun time in Club Penguin and it’s great to just wander around and take it all in. A lot of the areas in the game have been changed around and everything is really wacky. I always wonder what someone who just started playing the game during the April Fool’s Party would think!

Free Item at the Dock

The free item this year is the same as from many times before: the propellor hat. If you don’t have it already, go to the Dock and start throwing snowballs at the painting. It will take a while, but eventually you’ll complete a painting with a treasure chest on it. Then a platform on a spring will appear next to the painting and it will have the propellor hat on it. Walk over to pick it up.

TIP: You can throw snowballs a lot faster it you press the T key to target and then click your mouse rather than clicking on the snowball icon in the toolbar each time.

Other Fun April Fool’s Stuff

There’s so much silliness going on around Club Penguin for April Fool’s Day that it’s hard to list everything. A few places you should definitely visit are the Forest, where everything has been turned upside down, and the Beach, where the door to the lighthouse is now located out in the snow. And the best room by far to see is the Mine. When you click on it on the Map, you’ll arrive in the spinning arrow room, which will be funny for anyone who’s ever had to wait a long time for a room to load in the game.

A Silly Place

There is also a members only room that you can get to from the Snow Forts. This area is called, A Silly Place and it’s a special room that looks a lot like the pages of a Dr. Seuss book. Over on the right side of the room is a free item for members called the King Jester Hat. Put it on and sit comfortably in the huge throne in the middle of the room. Or if you’re feeling funny, go tell a joke up on the stage to the right.
