Can you believe that Halloween is almost here again? It has arrived in style on Club Penguin for 2011 with lots of spooky and fun things to do.

Free Item: Ghost Costume

The free item this year is the Ghost Costume and you’ll find it inside the Haunted House. This year, the Haunted House is open to everyone, so non-members can get inside. To get there, go to the Forest and then follow the path leading to the Haunted House. Then walk inside. The ghost costume is at the top of the stairs on the left.

Haunted House and Secret Lab

The Haunted House isn’t the only special place that’s been opened up to non-members for this year’s party. The old favorite hangout of Gary the Gadget Guy during Halloween, the Secret Lab is now available to everyone as well. You access both from the outside of the Haunted House. Go inside the house to see the spooky interior. Go to the right and down into the cellar door to get inside the secret lab.

Dark Chamber

From the Forest, you can also take the path that leads to the Dark Chamber, a special place for members only. This is the same room they had last year. There’s an entry area and then a door that leads deep into the chamber itself. To get through the door, you need to match the sequence of colored bubbles that come up from the rock spires by clicking on the corresponding keys on the organ at the bottom. The doors will open and you can then proceed to the inner chamber.

Once inside the inner chamber, you can pick up the free item for members, which is the lantern. You’ll want to equip the lantern so that you can navigate the spooky maze that leads through the chamber. At the end of the maze, you’ll arrive at the Monster Room. In here, you can another members-only free item: the Swamp Monster costume. Also, there’s a Monster Maker clothing catalog available while in this room. Just click on the icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.

Monster Maker Catalog Cheats

The Monster Maker Catalog has lots of mix-and-match monster costume pieces to try out. And there are also two hidden items in this catalog. Here’s how to get them.

• To get the Mummy Costume, click on the letter M in the word Monster in the top left corner. The Mummy Costume costs 600 coins.
• To get the Raven Wings, click on the letter K in the word Maker in the top left corner. The Raven Wings cost 300 coins.

Trick or Treating at the Snow Forts

A lot of areas are decorated for Halloween, but one of the most fun ones is the Snow Forts, which has been decorated to look like a small neighborhood of houses all ready for trick or treaters to visit. When you walk up to each door, you’ll hear a doorbell ring and you can even walk inside the houses if you like. Unfortunately, no one is giving out candy!

Halloween Scavenger Hunt

In another ongoing Club Penguin Halloween tradition, there’s a scavenger hunt. In past years, we had to find different pieces of candy. This year, we’re searching for candy ghosts. Here’s where you’ll find them, in order:

1. The first ghost is at the Cove.
2. The second ghost is outside the Haunted House.
3. The third ghost is outside the Mine.
4. The fourth ghost is in the Ski Village.
5. Head up to the top of the Ski Hill to find the fifth ghost.
6. Now go to the forest to find the sixth ghost.
7. You’ll find the seventh ghost at the Beach.
8. The eighth and final ghost is in the pumpkin patch at the Docks.

After you find all eight ghosts, you’ll get a special Candy Ghost background for your player card.

The newest pin is hidden at the Beach, near the rocks on the lower left side of the screen. The pin is a section of an old iron-wrought fence that looks like it came from a haunted house and it’s here to celebrate the upcoming Halloween Party on Club Penguin.

One of the most popular events of the year has returned to Club Penguin. It’s the Club Penguin Halloween Candy Hunt 2010 and once again you’ll be able to travel around the island in a giant scavenger hunt, looking for Halloween candy that is hidden all over. There are eight pieces to find and you’ll get clues along the way. Many are very easy to spot if you read the clues carefully, but some of the candy pieces can be tricky to find. Read the walkthrough below or watch the video to get all of the Club Penguin Halloween Candy Hunt cheats for 2010.

To get started with the candy hunt, click on the jack-o-lantern next to the Moderator icon in the upper-right corner of your screen. You’ll see silhouettes of the candy pieces you need to find along with your first clue. Happy hunting!

Halloween Candy Hunt Walkthrough

1. The first piece is hidden in the trees at the Beach.
2. The second piece of candy is hidden in the trees on the left side of the screen at the Snow Forts.
3. The third piece of candy is hidden behind the pumpkin stem at the iceberg, just below where you’ll see the Aurora Borealis in the sky.
4. Head over to the Gift Shop to find the fourth piece of candy, which is hidden up on the shelf with all the wigs.
5. Go inside the Pizza Shop to find the fifth piece of candy. It’s the small pumpkin on the left side of the organ.
6. The sixth piece of candy is inside the Ski Lodge in the Village. Look up in the mirror above the fireplace to find it.
7. The seventh piece of candy is hidden inside the giant cauldron outside in the Plaza. It’s in the lower-right part of the screen.
8. The eighth and final piece of candy is hidden up at the Beacon on top of the Lighthouse. It’s behind the stairs and next to the telescope on the left side.

Once you find all eight pieces, you can claim your prize by clicking on the claim prize button. This year it’s the Candy Forest Path background for your player card. You’ll also earn a Club Penguin stamp for finishing the scavenger hunt.

The newest issue of Better Igloos, the Club Penguin igloo furniture catalog is now out. It’s a very special issue because it contains all the special Halloween decoration items and has arrived just in time for the 2010 Halloween Igloo Decorating Contest.

It's all about the Pile o' Goo this Halloween.

Some of the new Halloween-themed items that you can purchase include the Spooky Penguin Statue, the Perched Puffle Statue, the Crystal Ball, a whole set of Jack O’ Lanterns and the best item by far…the Pile o’ Goo

Long time Club Penguin players know that each Halloween party also brings another event–a big storm. Last year, the storm signaled the arrival of a new game, Card-Jitsu Fire. This year, we’re expecting the release of Card-Jitsu Water.

If you read The Club Penguin Times, you’ll see there’s an article about the upcoming storm in Club Penguin. Gary the Gadget Guy is predicting a new storm and thinks it will be very different from last year. He says it will last longer and is predicted to arrive on October 29, just in time for Halloween.

Last year's storm had even Sensei a bit worried.

Players can now enter the 2010 Club Penguin Halloween Decorating Contest, which runs from October 15 through October 17. You can read all the instructions in the Club Penguin Times newspaper, and here are the basics.

1. Decorate your igloo in a Halloween theme. Spooky, silly, whatever Halloween means to you.
2. Look fo rthe ‘Submit Igloo’ button in your igloo. This button will only be around October 15-17.
3. When your igloo is the way you like it, just press the submit button in your igloo.
4. REMEMBER: Don’t change your igloo once you’ve entered the contest!

There will be 20 grand prize winners and 20 runner-ups. The grand prize winners get 50,000 coins and their winning igloos will be featured in the Club Penguin Times. The runner-ups will get 25,000 coins and their names featured in the Times.

The submit igloo button is the golden igloo that appears on the right side of the screen when you’re editing your igloo. It’s pretty hard to miss! When you click on it you’ll get a pop up window confirming that you want to submit the igloo. Have fun decorating, and don’t forget that submissions end on Sunday, October 17.

October has arrived and since the first day of October is on a Friday, the Club Penguin Style clothing catalog is already out. With it comes a lot of new costumes for Halloween along with some old favorites. And as always, there are some hidden items and secrets inside the pages of the catalog. The video below will reveal the secret locations of all the items.

Here is a list of all the hidden items in this month’s clothing catalog.

• Click on the green bride of Frankenstein’s beak to get the Frankenpenguin Costume, which costs 450 coins.
• Click on the blue vampire penguin’s beak to get the Frankenpenuin Head for 250 coins.
• Click on the middle ghost’s face to get the Crook and Flail for 300 coins.
• You’ll find the Red Viking Helmet by clicking on the pumpkin light on the string. It costs 750 coins.
• Click on the red viking helmet to close the window and repeat four times to get the blue viking helmet, which costs 1200 coins.
• Click on the tree in the background to get the Ringmaster outfit (3 pieces)
• Click on the mountain peak to get the Green Hiking boots, which cost 325 coins.
• Click on the penguin’s foot to get the Lasso for 150 coins.
• Click on the tree top in the background to get the blue duck for 50 coins.
• Click the brown penguin’s eyeball (that’s got to hurt!) to get the mountain climber gear and hiking boots.
• Click on the tree top in the background to get the 3D glasses, which only cost 50 coins.

New Costumes

In addition to the hidden items and cheats, there are some new (and old) Halloween costumes that you can purchase for your penguin if you’re a member. Here’s a quick look at some of the costumes you can get this year.

The Lady Frankenpenguin, the Witch and the Count are all wonderfully spooky.

The mummy, pharaoh and Cleo costumes add some Egyptian flair to Halloween.

The Faery, the Bee and the Blizzard Wizard are brought together for Halloween.

There is a second free costume for members only inside the Haunted House in Club Penguin. You can find it in a box at the top of the staircase over on the top-right. It’s a Silly Scarecrow Suit and it definitely looks pretty silly. But it’s a freebie so go and grab it while you can!

The big attraction of the Club Penguin Halloween Party is always the Halloween Hunt. This is a fun scavenger hunt where you search throughout the island of Club Penguin looking for eight pieces of candy. There are clues as you go and it’s fun to try and find the candy by solving the clues as you go. But sometimes it can be a little hard, so here’s a handy complete walkthrough of the 2009 Club Penguin Halloween Hunt. I have a full walkthrough video and some step-by-step instructions below.

Starting the Hunt

To get started on the Club Penguin Halloween Hunt, just click on the jack-o-lantern in the upper-right corner of the screen. This will show you silhouettes of the candy pieces you need to find and give you your first clue.

Jack-O-Lantern in Ski Lodge Attic

The first piece of candy is hidden in the Ski Lodge attic. It’s behind the couches.

Candy Corn at the Dock

The second piece of candy is hidden inside the big carved pumpkin at the Dock. The hole in the pumpkin is candy corn shaped, which is kind of a big clue!

Lollipop at the Pet Shop

The third piece of candy is hidden on top of the shelves in the back of the Pet Shop.

Candy at the Cove

The fourth piece of candy is hidden behind the purple book that the ghost is reading at the Cove.

Jack-O-Lantern at the Pool

To get the fifth piece of candy, click on the unlit jack-o-lantern light hanging from the ceiling at the underground pool.

Candy at the Soccer Pitch

To get the sixth piece of candy, waddle over to the soccer pitch and click on the box in the stadium lights up on the right.

Candy Apple in the Forest

To get the seventh piece of candy, go to the Forest and move your mouse over the rustling bush in the back. The candy apple will pop out.

Candy at the Mine

The last piece of candy is inside the Mine in the green slime pool in the bottom right corner.
