One of the best things about Club Penguin are all the costumes you can use to customize and outfit your penguin. Each month, Club Penguin releases a brand new costume catalog and every few months there are new Sporting Goods and Club Penguin Play costume trunk catalogs. If you’ve been playing the game for a while, there are probably dozens or even hundreds of costumes available. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be highlighting some of the best costumes you can find in the game. Remember, not all of the costumes are always available. They come and go with the changes in the monthly catalogs. Sometimes, a popular costume will return but some of these won’t be seen again!
Today’s featured costumes are the Mermaid and Merman outfits. They were introduced with the Underwater Adventure play at the stage in August 2009 and became available for a second time when the play returned to the stage in July 2010.
The mermaid outfit consists of two pieces, the Blue Lagoon wig and the Mermaid costume itself. Together, they cost 1,050 coins. The merman outfit has four different pieces in it. They are the Surf Wig (400 coins), the Shell Collar (100 coins), the Shell Cuffs (250 coins), and the Merpenguin Fin (500 coins). All together, it will cost you 1,250 coins to put the Merman outfit together.
